What Is This Project?
Windows 10 AME aims at delivering a stable, non-intrusive yet fully functional build of Windows 10 to anyone, who requires the Windows operating system natively. Spyware systems, which are abundant in Windows 10 by default, have not been disabled using group policy, registry entries or various other workarounds – they have been entirely removed and deleted from the system, on an executable-level. This includes Windows Update, and any related services intended to re-patch the system via what is essentially a universal backdoor. Core applications, such as the included Edge web-browser, Windows Media Player, Cortana, as well as any appx applications, have also been successfully eliminated. The total size of removed files is about 2 GB.Great effort has been invested in maintaining the subsequent system’s stability, bug-free operation and user experience, as many of these removed services conflict with core Windows 10 features.
About This Archive
This archive contains a pre-built ISO of Windows 10 Ameliorated, derived from the official Windows 10 build 1903. Normal Windows activation is still required and must be entered during the install process since the activation program has been removed from the OS itself. This ISO is merely provided as a convenience and is not needed to install an "Ameliorated" version of Windows 10 because the modifications can be performed manually using an official Windows 10 ISO by following this guide:Windows 10 AME Documentation

Common Questions and Quirks
https://ameliorated.info/faq.htmlWhat's the adminstrator password?
user is the username for the default user.malte is the administrator password. (these are not the same account)
(note, the Administrator account itself has been disabled. The system boots into a standard user account (logged in as "user") without administrator privileges, but programs can be installed by entering the administrator password, "malte")
Why is there no internet connection?
The connection itself should work, however Windows' ability to detect it has been disabled since it will no longer contact Microsoft's servers to check. This can be re-enabled in the registry or spoofed.More info here
Normally Windows will do this internet check automatically by attempting to download this URL:

History
This project has been on-going for many years. On Sepember 5th, 2020 some prominent YouTube videos drew attention to the project, flooding AME's Telegram chat server with new users and inciting Microsoft to demand that any links to modified ISO's be taken down.magnet:?xt=urn:btih:F6AE4B1303E0D800B329F3DDA1170D7E9865D93D&dn=AME_1903_%282020-02-06%29.iso&tr=https%3a%2f%2f1337.abcvg.info%3a443%2fannounce

I had to scour the internet to find this information. I finally got it installed and I couldn't login!
I definitely would not recommend AME if you don't know your way around Windblows settings like user accounts, device drivers, network adapter settings and more.
I set my network settings manually (because you have to) and thought it wasn't working because the network icon showed no internet connection but it actually WAS working. AME has it setup to where Windblows doesn't know that there's internet so that it won't send/receive things automatically.
It's great that there's no spyware/telemetry but it's a pain to get simple things running.
Subject: It's clear we cannot trust Microsoft, so this is a step in the right direction
In the late 1990s many of us remember the anti-trust legal case against Microsoft, in response to its manipulation of customers and the way it enforced the use of its own browser. When I look at Windows 10 now, with its Edge Browser that we cannot even uninstall (the option is greyed-out), it's absolutely clear that Microsoft is sticking a finger up at consumers.
It seems Microsoft is totally ignoring the spirit of that late 1990s case and the important basis behind it, and doing the same thing again. Words almost fail me. I can only assume that Microsoft has taken advice from its equally manipulative lawyers who’ve drawn the conclusion that nothing will come of this.
Now onto this "Ameliorated build". This is a good effort and is workable, though not without flaws. The downside for me is that it is someone's personal project containing other software to his or her own preference, such as Firefox and Thunderbird.
It also has some dude's face on the Windows background, which I don't see the need for and puts me off using it. I right-clicked the screen background with the intention of removing it and it replies with an error box:
"ms-settingspersonalization-background" and below it...
“This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page.” Therefore as the administrator user, I cannot remove the dude’s face.
Summary — we all need this in order to free ourselves of Microsoft's underhanded and clandestine ways. Or perhaps the better option is to just avoid using Microsoft's products, or to complain about Microsoft's illegal behaviour to our governments. The EU for instance has not been afraid to tackle Microsoft in the past.
Subject: Has it's quirks, but is SOO much better
Then I stumbled across Windows 10 AME. At first, I had difficulty seeing passed some of it's issues, but Windows 7 started to exhibit stability issues and they were going to get worse. So I took another crack at AME, and after developing some workarounds for my issues I have to say that I can use Win10 AME quite happily.. It runs just as well or better than 7, and that is something to be happy about.
